With the year coming to a close, retailers are in the midst of what is reported to be a record boom in online shopping.

Earlier this week, Australia Post stated that it had processed a record number of parcels which it attributed to the increasing number of Australian consumers shopping online (as reported by the Sydney Morning Herald). However as highlighted by the recent ‘Click Frenzy fail‘ the repercussions for retailers not prepared for the onslaught of traffic go beyond simply missing out on sales.
